Last weekend the juniors from Košice met their peers from Banská Bystrica on ice. The Steelers entered the ice in Banská Bystrica with self-confidence. Samuel Pavlík assisted by Gabriel Vereš and Patrik Frič scored immediately in the seventh minute of the Saturday match. However, the hockey players from Banská Bystrica equalized the match at the end of the second period. They scored six seconds before the end. However, they were not affected by the match score so as not to be able increase it in the third period. Patrik Frič managed to do it during the power play, in the twelve minute. He was assisted by Samuel Pavlík and Gabriel Vereš. Our juniors confirmed their winning also a few seconds before the end of the match. So, the 19th round of the junior extension part ended successfully for HC Košice, with the score 1:3.

Also, the Sunday match developed quite on a balanced basis. Despite the undisciplined game of the junior player form Banská Bystrica, our junior players lost the first period 1:0. Then, Patrik Barger, assisted by Oliver Zahuranec and Adam Jobbágy, scored in the second period. So, the second period of the match ended with tie score. It did not change in the third period and the match ended by overtime, with the home junior team winning – 2:1.

Also, a double match of our juniors was to take place on the main playing area of Steel Arena. They were supposed to play against the hockey players from Spišská Nová Ves. However, both matches were cancelled and postponed due to a high thickness absence in the team of HK Spišská Nová Ves. The substitute match of these teams has not yet been set.

Košice Cadets also did not play all matches during this weekend. They will compete on the ice of Steel Arena in two matches during the weekend in two weeks. Their first opponent will be HK Ružinov´99 Bratislava, a. s. They will play in the second match against their peers from Slovan Bratislava-youth.
