Nekonečný rad tiahnuci sa pred Steel arénou dával tušiť už pár hodín pred oficiálnym začiatkom autogramiády HC Košice, že ruky novopečených majstrov Slovenska dostanú pri podpisovaní pripravených plagátov či dresov poriadne zabrať. Počas nasledujúcich hodín rozdali tisícky podpisov a mobily fanúšikov plnili i fotky s vystavenými trofejami Dušana Pašeka a Vladimíra Dzurillu.

„Nebolo to tu osem rokov a všetci sa tešíme z toho, čo sa tu deje. Rad fanúšikov nemá konca a už počas play-off sme mali žiadosti o lístky zo všetkých strán. Záujem je obrovský a nás to môže iba tešiť. Po tých neúspešných a covidových rokoch sa však ľuďom ani nečudujem,“ okomentoval obrovský záujem fanúšikov útočník Oliver Jokeľ.

Zatiaľ čo viacerí hráči už stihli zhodiť play-off brady a napríklad Jaroslav Janus s Hunterom Fejesom si ponechali iba fúziky, Marek Hovorka ostáva neprehliadnuteľným bradáčom.

 „Brada ostane, iba si ju trochu pristrihnem,“ pousmial sa 38-ročný útočník, ktorý si po poľskom a troch českých prvoligových užíva prvý titul majstra Slovenska. „Emócia jej stále rovnaká. Ťaháme už štyri dni, ale stále si to užívame. Autogramiáda bola výborná a teraz sa tešíme na Hlavnú. Ja osobne si uvedomujem, že je to pravdepodobne môj posledný titul a užívam si každý moment.“

„Je to veľkolepá akcia. Toľko ľudí sme nečakali a všetci sa už tešíme aj na oslavy na Hlavnej,“ nadviazal obranca Radek Deyl. Tridsaťtriročný Košičan sa ziskom piateho titulu zaradil medzi legendy materského klubu. „Päť titulov s Košicami má tuším len Rišo Jenčík a som na to hrdý. Rád by som ho preskočil a teší ma, že som mohol väčšinu kariéry odohrať v materskom klube. Láka i prekonanie šiestich titulov Mareka Bartánusa, ale on je asi neprekonateľný. Verím totiž, že ďalšie úspechy získame spolu. V Košiciach nezískavame osamotené tituly a verím preto, že sa budeme tešiť aj o rok.“

Minulosť potvrdzuje, že tak tomu naozaj bolo. Prvé dva slovenské tituly získali Košice v rokoch 1995 a 1996, nasledoval zlatý hetrik v rokoch 2009 až 2011 a potom opäť dva tituly v rokoch 2014 a 2015.

Prvé rozhovory o možnom predĺžení zmluvy medzi HC Košice a Deylom už prebehli a samotného obrancu láka aj možnosť účasti v Lige majstrov. Uplynulé mesiace vníma ako jednu nezabudnuteľnú jazdu.

„Z posledného miesta sme sa dostali na prvé a to je obrovská rarita. My sme však verili aj v čase, keď sme boli na dne tabuľky. Nehrali sme zlý hokej, len sa nám nedarilo výsledkovo. Prešli sme si ťažkú energetickú krízu, hrali sme v Crow aréne, ale napokon to všetko dobre dopadlo,“ odfúkol si Deyl.

V prípade útočníka Mareka Slováka ide o druhé majstrovské oslavy. V roku 2016 oslavoval s materskou Nitrou, teraz sa teší na východe.

„Každý titul je krásny. Na ten prvý s Nitrou sa nedá zabudnúť, pri tomto som už mal v Košiciach aj manželku a deti. Cením si preto obidva tituly a dúfam, že ešte aspoň jeden pridám,“ poznamenal 34-ročný útočník, ktorého potešil veľký záujem fanúšikov o autogramiádu. „Je to super akcia. Prišlo veľmi veľa ľudí a konečne sme vrátili chýbajúcu eufóriu do Košíc. Už vlani sme ukázali, že to ide a teraz je to pravá víťazná nálada.“

V dlhom rade čakateľov na podpis sa pomaličky posúval aj Marekov otec. „Poslal som ho, nech si to pekne vystojí. Čaká tu toľko ľudí a nemôžem predsa dopustiť, aby sa predbiehal len preto, že je môj otec. Pekne mi to nechá podpísať a ja mu potom plagát vezmem a nechám si ho zarámovať,“ uzavrel so širokým úsmevom Slovák.

Program majstrovských osláv vyvrcholí dnes od sedemnástej hodine na Hlavnej ulici. V rámci programu sa predstavia speváci Lukáš Adamec, Tomáš Buranovský či bubnová skupina Batida.

Few hours before the official start of the HC Košice autograph session, the never-ending queue in front of Steel arena already showcased that the fresh Slovak champions would have their hands full for long hours when signing prepared posters or jerseys. During the following hours they signed thousands of times and the fans’ phones were being filled with photos of the displayed Dušan Pašek trophy and the Vladimír Dzurilla trophy.

“This hasn’t happened in eight years, and everybody is excited for what is going on. The queue has no end and already during playoffs we had ticket requests from every direction. The interest is great, and it only brings us joy. After those unsuccessful and covid years, I am not even surprised,” commented forward Oliver Jokeľ on the enormous interest of fans.

While many of the players were quick to shave their playoff beards off and, for example, Jaroslav Janus and Hunter Fejes left only a moustache, Marek Hovorka stays unmissably bearded.

“The beard stays, I will only trim it a little,” smiled the 38-year-old forward who is enjoying his first Slovak championship, after one Polish and three Czech first-league wins. “The emotions are still the same. We have been at it for four days already, but we are still enjoying it. The autograph session was amazing and now we are excited for Hlavná. I, personally, am aware that this might be my last title, so I’m enjoying every moment of it.”

“It’s a spectacular event. We didn’t expect this many people and all of us are looking forward to the celebrations on Hlavná,” followed up defenseman Radek Deyl. The 33-year-old from Košice has earned a place among the mother club’s legends by winning his fifth championship title. “I think only Rišo Jenčík has five titles with Košice, so I’m very proud. I would like to surpass him and I’m glad I could play most of my career in my mother club. Surpassing the six titles of Marek Bartánus is also attractive to me, but he is probably unsurpassable. Mainly because I believe our next successes will have been earned together. In Košice, we don’t earn individual titles, and therefore I believe we will celebrate next year again.”

The past confirms it truly goes like this. Košice earned the first two Slovak titles in 1995 and 1996, followed up by golden hattrick from 2009 to 2011 and then again two titles in 2014 and 2015.

First negotiations about prolonging Deyl’s contract with HC Košice have already happened and the defenseman himself is attracted by the chance to participate in Champions Hockey League. He considers these past months an unforgettable ride.

“We climbed to the first rank from the very last, and that is a rarity. Although, we have believed also at times we were at the bottom of the table. We didn’t play bad hockey, we just had bad results. We went through a difficult energetic crisis, we played in Crow arena, but at the end of the day it was a happy ending,” relaxed Deyl.

In the case of forward Marek Slovák, we are talking about his second championship celebrations. In 2016, he celebrated with maternal Nitra, now he is celebrating in the east.

“Every title is beautiful. That first one with Nitra is unforgettable, this one I celebrated in Košice with my wife and kids, as well. Therefore, I value both titles and I hope I can add at least one more,” stated the 34-year-old forward who was pleased by the fans’ great interest of the autograph session. “It’s a great event. A lot of people came, and we have finally brought back the missing euphoria to Košice. Last year we were able to show that it is possible and now it is the true champion mood.”

Marek’s father was amongst the slow-moving queue, as well. “I sent him there, let him stand. There are so many people waiting, I can’t possibly allow him to skip the queue only because he’s my father. He will get the poster signed by everyone and I will then take it and get it framed,” closed out Slovák with a big smile.

Program of the championship celebrations will climax today at 5pm on Hlavná street. As a part of the program, singers Lukáš Adamec, Tomáš Buranovský and a drum group Batida will perform.
